TRAP ROLL

Soft tissue release on the traps can help alleviate muscle tension and soreness in the neck and upper back. Here's how to foam roll the traps:

  1. Lie face up on the floor and place a foam roller/ball under your upper back, just below your shoulder blades.

  2. Cross your arms over your chest or place your hands behind your head for support.

  3. Lift your hips off the ground and slowly roll the foam roller up and down your upper back and traps, from just below your neck to just above your lower back.

  4. If you find a particularly tender spot, pause and hold the roller on that area for a 10-20 seconds to apply more pressure.

  5. Continue rolling for 60-120 seconds using the strategies in the video.

  6. Remember to breathe deeply and relax your muscles while rolling.
