SINGLE LEG CALF RAISE

Calf Raise standards are as follows:

Use a box, step or stack of weight plates that is high enough to perform a full range of motion. Stack against a wall.

  1. Stand the ball of your foot on the edge of the box. Elbows by your sides, use your fingertips to stabilise on the wall infant - without allowing the wall to take your weight

  2. Cross the non-working leg behind the working leg at the ankle.

  3. Have a soft bend in the knee on the working leg and stack the body up parallel to the wall.

  4. Push the toes down to raise the heel as high as you can, contracting the calf.

  5. Lower the heel as low as possible to stretch the calf as much as possible.

Ensure you don’t lean forward into the wall. Keep upright at all times.
