INTERVAL RUNS
Sets of Sprints
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING TO ACHIEVE
You will be assigned a distance to sprint as fast as you can.
You will be assigned a rest period.
You will be assigned a number of rounds to complete.
These sprints are done similar to sets of strength exercises. It is important you apply maximum effort to each set.
PROGRESSION
You will be completing running intervals once per week over the course of the 12-week program.
These sessions will alternate between 400m and 800m intervals.
You should log your times and aim to progress each variation by utilising the data from previous runs at the specified interval distances.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
A ROUTE/TRACK
A running track is ideal as the distance will be set, with a smooth, flat surface. Adapt accordingly and be as accurate as possible if you cannot utilise a track.
A STOPWATCH
Log your time and your rest periods - Essential.
